Crochet Sea Kelp

Here is a 3 foot long Sea Kelp going to the Crochet-Arium by The Crochet Crowd for Craft For A Cure

This is a free form crochet. I did not follow a pattern. I made up my own

Crochet hook size K 6.5mm
Crochet hook size I 5.5mm
Worsted weight Red Heart yarn in Green Shades
Worsted weight yarn in Caron Sage Green
With Green Tones
Chain 126
Ch 1 turn
Row 1: Single crochet 3 times into second chain on hook, single crochet 125, chain 1,
Do Not Turn
You will be crocheting in the back of the chain now
Go ahead and single crochet down the back of the chain 125
In last chain, single crochet 3 Fasten off
New Color Sage
Insert hook in any stitch with a slip stitch and begin single crochet.
Row 2: single crochet in the next 10, double crochet in the next 10, continue in this pattern to the end. 3 double crochet in the last chain.
Do Not turn
Continue on around the back of chain again using the patter single crochet 10, double crochet 10 When you get to the end 3 double crochet
Row 3: single crochet 10, double crochet 4,  now 3 double crochet in next stitch, 4 more double crochet, single crochet 10, double crochet 4, now 3 double crochet in next stitch...continue on around When you reach the end 3 double crochet
Row 4: single crochet 10, double crochet 4, now 5 double crochet in next stitch, 4 more double crochet, single crochet 10, double crochet 4, now 5 double crochet in next stitch, continue on around. End with 5 double crochet at the end.
Fasten off
Change back to Green Tones
Change to a size I hook
Single Crochet all around
Fasten off and weave in any loose yarn

Crochet Electric Eel

I crocheted this electric eel for the Crochet-Arium by The Crochet Crowd for Crafts For A Cure

He is about 12 inches long
I used this free pattern
Eel Amigurumi 
I used a 5.5mm I hook and Neon Green Red Heart yarn and Neon Bright Red Heart yarn I changed the pattern on the back and belly fins to a double crochet. The Neon Bright yarn made its own block design.
I sewed a star pattern for the eyes with Black yarn instead of using plastic eyes.
I think he turned out pretty cute!

Crochet Jellyfish

This is Jewlya a crocheted jellyfish I made for the Crochet-Arium for Crafts For A Cure with The Crochet Crowd

I used Red Heart yarns in Sea Green and BonBon Print
I used a size I (5.5mm) hook
And 2 12mm safety eyes
Jewlya is approximately 12 inches long including her tentacles.
I made up my own pattern using 3 different patterns put together.
The base pieces are the begining of a beret pattern up to row 8 with 60sc

For the top pieces

    Starting at the center top of the beret, chain (ch) 4. Join with a slip stitch (sl st) in the first ch made to form a ring.
    Work 8 sc in the ring, do not join to the first sc. Tie a piece of contrasting color yarn or fasten a safety pin through the top of the last sc to mark the end of the round.

    step 2
    Work 2 sc in each of the 8 sc. You will now have 16 sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.
    Work 1 sc in the next sc and 2 sc in the next sc. Continue this pattern 7 times more. You will now have 24 sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.
    Work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc and 2 sc in the next sc. Continue this pattern 7 times more. You will now have 32 sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.
    Work 1 sc in each sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.
    Work 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc and 2 sc in the next sc. Continue in this pattern ending with 2 sc in the marked stitch. You will now have 40 sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.
    Work 1 sc in each sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of the round.
    Repeat Steps 7 & 8. You will now have 50 sc.
    Work 1 sc in each of the next 4 sc and 2 sc in the next sc. Continue in this pattern, ending with 2 sc in the marked stitch. You will now have 60 sc. Move the marker to the last stitch of this round.

Note: For the top piece. At this point you continue around 4 more times to form the lip on the top piece.
You can add a scalloped edge using a second color or leave it plain
Scalloped edge is 5dc, sl st into next ch, sk 2 sc , 5dc in next. repeat around

Note: For the bottom piece
Repeat all the rows until you get to 60 sc
The bottom will be a lot smaller. It is supposed to fit inside the larger top piece.
I joined the 2 pieces at the 4th row in from the edge.
Now the Tentacles! I made 4 short and 1 long
Longest Tentacle is 95 chain then 3sc in each. This will make it curl all by itself
Shorter Tentacles are only 80cahin with 3 sc in each.
Add eyes before stuffing
Sew around inside the 4th row to attach lower half to larger upper half
Now you have a Jellyfish

Crochet Goldfish

This is my crocheted goldfish for the project Crochet-Arium for Craft For A Cure with The Crochet Crowd

I used a size G hook and worsted weight cotton yarn Lily and Sugar in orange and white multi. I know it looks like orange and yellow in this picture.

Crochet Heart Pillow

Just finished a heart pillow
For the front, I followed this pattern Valentine Heart Granny Square http://www.annoocrochet.com/2013/01/valentine-heart-granny-square-free.html 
For the back I made a 12 inch Granny Square changing colors each round.
I used 2 strands of yarn held together for the crocheted border.

Owl Pillow

I made this 12 inch Owl Pillow for my other nephew using this pattern http://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2012/11/owl-granny-square-crochet-pattern.html
It turned out really different since I used chenille yarn instead of worsted weight.
I used regular worsted weight yarn in soft navy for the front and grey for the back in a solid Granny Square pattern http://www.crochetgeek.com/2008/01/solid-granny-square.html

 I added a little blue triangle button for the beak.

I don't know if it shows up well, but I used a fun denim yarn ticked with silver for the edging.
